Once you have a business entity broker license for your LLC, you can also register a doing business as (DBA) name, aka an “assumed name” or “fictitious name”, with TREC. It’s very easy to register a DBA name online with TREC, just follow the steps below.
Before you begin, you must first make sure the name you want to use is available and register it with the Secretary of State. See this article for more info.
Steps to Register Name With TREC
Log in to the My License Services account for your LLC and choose Name Management Tool from the drop down.
On the left column, click the Add Name icon.
Choose DBA and answer Yes to the legal authority question and No to the “small group” question (that’s for team names which doesn’t apply here). Enter your DBA name in the box and click Add Name. Acknowledge that you have legal authority to use the name. That’s it!

Only add the DBA names that you want to use in real estate transactions, don’t add any other DBA names you have if those businesses aren’t performing real estate brokerage services.
NOTE: You must register your DBA name with TREC before advertising or attempting to perform any real estate activities as that name. It is against the law if you don’t.
