Now that you own an LLC, you may occasionally receive “labor law compliance” notices in the mail. You most likely received one right after your LLC was formed. Please look closely at the letter as they are not from any government agency. These are companies that sell labor law signs. They are gimmicky and deceiving and trying to trick you into believing that you must order these signs immediately to be in compliance. You can ignore these and simply throw them away.
Keep in mind that by default, you are not an employee of your company, you are an owner. If you have agents and/or assistants working for you, they should all be independent contractors and not employees. Therefore, it’s not necessary for you to post labor law signs anywhere.
How did they find out that you have a company? When a company is formed, it becomes part of the public record. They are simply getting the contact info from the company registration.
